FAQ
Keyholding involves securely holding a set of keys to your property and responding to alarm activations or emergencies. IOMKCo provides quick and reliable access to your property when needed, such as in response to an alarm or for routine inspections.
When your alarm system is triggered, IOMKCo is automatically notified via your alarm monitoring company or direct system alerts. A keyholder will then respond to investigate the cause and take appropriate action, whether it’s resetting the alarm or contacting the authorities.
If a fault with your alarm is detected or if a break-in has occurred, IOMKCo will secure your property, inform you, and, if necessary, coordinate repairs or further security measures. We will liaise with emergency services on your behalf if required.
Our keyholding service provides unlimited callouts, with a standard attendance charge for each callout. To ensure a reliable response, we recommend regular maintenance of your alarm system to avoid false alarms or malfunctions.
While keyholding is most effective when integrated with an intruder alarm system, it is not always necessary. We can still provide keyholding services for properties without an alarm, but our response would be based on manual checks rather than alarm triggers.
Yes, IOMKCo offers holiday cover to ensure your property is secured while you are away. We can handle alarm responses, property checks, and any emergencies that arise in your absence.
Keyguarding refers to the secure holding of a spare set of keys for your property, kept in a safe and accessible location by Isle of Man Keyholding Ltd. (IOMKCo). These keys are only used in case of emergencies, such as lockouts, or when you need someone to access the property on your behalf (e.g. for contractors or emergency services). It ensures you always have a trusted backup in case you lose your keys or can’t be present to grant access.
Yes, we offer contracts tailored to your specific needs, whether for residential, commercial, or short-term agreements. Our team can provide a detailed proposal based on your requirements.
You can update your keyholding account details by contacting our office directly or through the link on our website. This includes changes to access instructions, emergency contacts, or alarm details.
We use secure, encrypted systems to store your keys, ensuring they are only accessible to authorised personnel. If a key is lost or stolen, we will immediately inform you and work to re-secure your property, including arranging for locks to be changed if necessary.
